Gentlemen, start your computers: race promotor Karl Katoch open up the first race of the Erzbergrodeos 2010 - the run for the much sought after 1.500 starting spots! The official registration forms will be online at www.erzbergrodeo.at on Sunday, October 4th at 8:00 p.m.

130 Kilogramms is the total weight of the 1.500 starting number decal-sets, and only riders who are as fast on their computers as they are on their bikes will be able to secure one of these number fort he 16th edition of the world's biggest motorcycle offroad event.  “We are pretty much excited how many riders will register in the very first days. Last years we've had 500 registrations after the first week online, one month later we already clinched the 1.000 riders mark.", says Marianne Wittmann from the Erzbergrodeo race office.

Erzbergrodeo 2010: breathtaking action and lots of improvements
The highlight of the 4-days event held in June 2010 will be once again the Red Bull Hare Scramble, for which the riders have to qualify over the 2-days Iron Road Prologue. Out of the 1.500 participants, only the 500 fastest riders make it into the starting grid of the infamous Hare Scramble. While the Prologue race will remain unchanged and also the Red Bull Hare Scramble will remain it's “20 Checkpoints in 4 hours"-mode, there will be improvements and novelties throughout the whole event.

2010 will see the second edition of the very successful ROCKET RIDE hillclimb, the Erzberg Arena will be completely re-designed and car-free next year, the number of spectator busses will be increased and the sanitary facilities within the paddocks will be improved. An own “family paddock" (featuring nighttime peace at 10:00 p.m.) will provide more freedom for participants who are attending the event with their wifes and kids.

Another major change was made within the organisation structure of the Erzbergrodeo itself, as the race promotors part ways with the former partner Rodeo-X GmbH. “We want to keep the Erzbergrodeo innovative and always one step ahead. Therefore, changes in our organisation have become mandatory. Nearly all decisive people will remain part of the crew, but we have totally  restructured the administration of sponsors and VIPs. The new system will allow us to bring both sponsors and competitors closer to each other, as well as building on the further success of the Erzbergrodeo.", explains  Karl Katoch  his decisions which are fully supported from long-time partners like Heinz Kinigadner, KTM, Red Bull and the city of Eisenerz.


Rodeo-X is out, ONE-ON-ONE Xtreme Endurocross conquers the Erzberg-Arena!
Although the Rodeo-X Endurocross side event has been cancelled from Erzbergrodeo 2010, riders and spectators will be served with a new and spectacolous action inside the Erzberg-Arena on a re-designed Endurocross track: ONE-ON-ONE Xtreme Enduro is the name of the latest attraction at the “Iron Giant"! Ambitious rookies and amateur riders can match themselves with the international top-riders in a head-to-head duell! The specific feature of the new event: the most impressive rider will receive a Wild Card for the first starting row of the Red Bull Hare Scramble! Please remember that KTM's Taddy Blazusiak's international career started the same way in 2007...! Detailed informations will be online soon.

Karl Katoch even fullfils another wish to his participants by presenting the new IRON ZONE. On Friday and Saturday all riders will have the possibility to extensively ride their bikes on a huge offroad area located around the Erzberg's lake. The track will include the mighty Hare Scramble uphill sections as well as some other specialities, and it will give riders the chance to tune up their engines and suspensions for the infinite challenge - the Red Bull Hare Scramble 2010.
