Front Disk Installation:
Swapping the disks is a relatively easy process; simply remove the front wheel, then set the wheel on a bench surface. Next remove the six bolts which hold the OEM disk in place. Set the new Moto-Master Ultra-Lite rotor with the circlip side down on the hub just as the stock unit was. Apply a small amount of blue Loc-tite on each bolt before tightening them down to the specified 12 ft.lbs.
To allow for the 260mm disk, you much install the provided billet adapter adapter. First loosen and remove the two caliper bolts. Now the brake pad pin needs to be removed. Next the lower caliper piece is to be replaced with the Moto-Master unit as shown in the photo to the right.
Next swap the grommmet (1), brake pad clip (2) and the guide pin (3) from the stock unit to the Moto-Master piece as shown in the photos above.
Once the above step is complete, slide the adapter back onto the caliper, just as the OEM unit was installed.
The rest is simple; bolt the caliper in it's original place making sure to use a thread locking sealant, torquing the bolts to the specified amount. Re-install the brake pads and the front wheel. Always make sure to follow the owner's manual for all specific procedures and torque specifications.
Rear disk Installation: The installation of the rear disk is nearly the identical process as the front: simply remove the rear wheel, loosen the four bolts which hold the OEM rotor in place. Next install the Moto-Master Ultra-Lite rotor just as the stock unit, making sure to use a high quality thread locking sealant. Again, always be sure to follow the factory torque specs.

  • Unique design/good looks
  • The rotors required some break-in time. They come from the factory with a chrome-like coating that needs to be worn off via normal use. The coating will be worn off within 15-30 minutes of normal riding.
