Mike "OldFart" Hetrick

This should be a real hate-mail generator. But hey, if you're an opinionated OldFart like I am, you're used to it. My only request is that you put a little thought into your hate-mail. When I get e-mail after e-mail that says, "Oh yeah? Well you suck!", it really takes the motivation out of me to come up with these hate-mail generators.

This month we?ll be talking about brakes. I mean, what the heck. We talked about wheels last month and brakes usually attach to the wheels, so why not. Let?s begin with drum brakes. There are still some of those beasts out there and we don?t want to leave anyone out.

The Staff here at the ORC Dirt Bike Page want to take an active role in supporting and nurturing the "other riders" out there. We know that there are enormous groups of riders that do not fit the standard definition of a "dirt biker"... i.e. white, male, motocrosser. There are enduro riders, trail riders, minorities, and yes, even WOMEN. Sadly, the last two groups are vastly under represented in most dirt bike related media.

I was immediately snapped from my concentration. My head spun toward the source of this gawdawfull commotion. Every spouse knows this tone of voice. It's one that spells impending doom.

Editors Note: Mark Klein is more widely known by the name of MXTuner on the internet newsgroup rec.motorcycles.dirt (RMD) where he is looked upon as the local mech expert. He is pretty much the online version of that buddy who knows a lot about bikes.
