TO BLEED, OR NOT TO BLEED!

Do not disturb, check or release pressure from the shock. The shock is pressurized with nitrogen. Nitrogen is used because its properties eliminates the tendency of the shock oil to foam or cavitate. The more consistent the oil, the more predictable the damping will be. No nitrogen maintenance is required. During shock servicing, the technician will note the amount of nitrogen released and look for trouble if none comes out. Occasionally, a rider confuses bleeding the air from the fork legs with bleeding nitrogen from the shock. Don't do this!
