I am an original Checker. I was the guy that took Fast Eddie to the Big Bear race in 1960. The story is true. I told him to get out of the outhouse and into the race! You are missing a key Checker, Al Rodgers who was #3 and Bill Postel, and Dickie Dean...Anyway, I'm still around and telling stories...

I was a member of the Checkers late 60s through the 70s and have some Checker stories written that I would like to post. I also have at least one about riding the Check Chase in the California to Parker, Az. era. I have no problem submitting these to someone for approval

I grew up with Wayne and Johnny Knudson, sons of Checker Kenny Knudson. I have to say that they are definately in my short list of All Time Heroes that I always envied and could never keep up with. My hats off to them as well as all of the Legendary Checkers Members! And to each and every member of the Knudson family "Thanks for the memories!!"

Greetings from down under!I have just bought an oil in frame Triumph Sonicweld/Trackmaster framed bike with triangular swinging arm which looks very like the one Doyle Fields is riding in 1970(from the book Triumph in America)The engine is 1965 vintage .The frame and engine have identical numbers starting with DRF and the engine number has a four on its side. The bike is an import from the US.I havnet been able to find a numbering system for sonicweld or trackmaster and as a long shot wondered if this could have been one of Doyle Fields bikes. His daughter Carlyn McBride did correspond about her father after this article .Can anyone help me on this or put me in touch with his family?? The bike is a beauty by the way and I cant wait to reassemble and ride.
