You said you checked the spark plug, did you read it's color? If the bike dies flooded/choked, then it's with more fuel in the mix than it can handle. Check for a white spark plug head.

I have a 125 yamaha TTR. when I pull the clutch the bike still stays in gear. well you can roll it but it not free flowing. I checked the cable and it is not that. Is this something I am going to need a mechanic for. Thank you for your help

My '96 KLX300 has been sitting for several months. I ran the carb dry after running fuel stabilizer thru it before the shut-down. When starting now it will fire and run for about 2 secs before shutting off. I've pulled, disassembed and cleaned the carb (twice), using compressed air to blow it, but haven't done a soaking yet. Everything looks good inside (no gunk, trash or water). Any suggestion? Tom

To Ken in VA... Its probably your clutch plates... I had the same problem last summer.... drain your MTL and pull your crankcase off... The clutch lates are probably sticking.... otherwise it might be something wrong with the setting of the teeth on the gear that pulls the clutch discs back to engage. If you havent alot of experience with maintenance you might want to bring it to someone...
