2015 Off-Road Expo Highlights

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo returned to the Fairplex in Pomona, California, this past weekend. What has become the largest off-road show on the West Coast continues to grow, drawing over 65,000 attendees and more than 325 off-road manufacturers, fabricators, retailers, and the best off-road vehicles under the sun. No matter if you’re into trucks, Jeeps, desert racing, rock crawling, dirt bikes, or UTVs--the Off-Road Expo is the place where the Off-Road Nation converges every year for the latest products, gear and trends in the off-road industry.
If you like off-road rigs with big horsepower, large tires and suspension that performs and can take a beating—then you’re going to love what we captured at this year’s Off-Road Expo.

A re-kindled interest in old iron is a welcomed shift. There were a handful of well-executed vintage off-road builds at the Off-Road Expo that mixed a healthy dose of modern tech and classic lines—like this 1970s Ford by Jake Velasco Race Prep.

The crowds were big at Off-Road Expo this year. Enthusiast walked the show in search of parts, deals, and radical vehicles.

Pro Comp, Smittybilt, G2 Axle & Gear and Rubicon Express teamed up with Off-Road Expo to create a mini “Rubicon Trail,” giving fans a taste of the legendary trail. Attendees were able to ride in a Jeep and experience the excitement of going over obstacles in a well-built rig made for extreme off-road adventures.

The SCORE Baja 1000 exhibit had off-road legends and young guns, like last 2014 defending Trophy Truck Champion Steven Eugenio, on hand signing autographs for the fans. There was also an impressive collection of fire-breathing machines on display at the Off-Road Expo, including SCORE Trophy Trucks, buggies and motorcycles. The SCORE Monster Energy Cinema helped energize the hall by bringing high impact action to the screen and a taste of Baja desert racing.
SCORE International also unveiled the Baja 1000 Course Map and made some important announcements regarding the 2016 season during the Expo.

DragonFire was out in full force giving show fans rides in their built UTVs, flying high across the tabletop jump on the Lucas Oil course.

One hundred lucky kids walked away with TONKA Motorsports replica trucks each day at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo. Myan Spaccarelli (Pro 2 Driver), Eric Barron (Pro 4 Driver), and the lovely ladies from Lucas Oil’s MAV TV helped pass out the toys during the two-day event. If you want one of your own, these TONKA Motorsports toys will be available at retailers nationwide this fall. Add it to your wish list!

Even though it rained Sunday, these enthusiastic girls still came out for the bikini contest—heels and all. With 11 beautiful contestants on deck, local radio personality “Lightning” from KROQ had a great time judging and bringing the crowd to life during the Miss Off-Road Expo bikini contest.

BFGoodrich Tires announced the 2015 Outstanding Trails Winners at Off-Road Expo. To date, Outstanding Trails has awarded grants to 36 off-road trails nominated by 35 local clubs throughout North America. The program has provided more than $140,000 in grants in support of these trail conservation efforts. See if one of your local or favorite trails made the list.

Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing demos kept the crowd entertained and smiling both days at Off-Road Expo. Pro drivers lighting up the wheels included Patrick Clark, Brandon Arthur, and Kory Halopoff.
